Born on Third Base (Part 1)

After reading the introduction of the book and the first couple chapters, it is an engaging book thus far because of the much different views I share with the author. After reading the preface and foreword part of the book it made it clear what the book would be about. I found the example used about Trump and Romney to be a very controversial way to talk about how a lot of wealthy people do not understand the lives of the poor or other 99% who are not as wealthy. I believe that what Romney said which was to get a loan from someone can be done by any person in our country. Even if you are raised in a poor family I believe that with the power of networking, everyone still should be able to find a loan if they have a good idea. I am also a big believer in that you don’t need money to make money because I have seen so many people grow up with nothing but because of knowledge and hard work which everyone can do they could become successful.     Additionally, I...

Random Post#2

After talking about the controversial issues in sports last post, I have decided to only stick to purely sports this week. The Lakers have just begun their season and there is a lot to be excited about, however disappointed as well. The Lakers are beginning their season with their rookie player that everyone has very high standards for. This player is Lonzo ball, but I don’t believe he is even the best rookie on the team. Ultimately, I believe Kyle Kuzma is not only Laker’s best rookie but also their best player coming into the season.   Over the preseason and Summer league, Kuzma surprised everyone with his talent and I think he has the most potential to grow as a player. Last week, Lakers played their first game of the season against their rivals Clippers and they were blown out of the game from the start. Coming into the game Lozno Ball had the highest expectations out of any player, but throughout the game he was basically shutout only scoring three points...

My Life on the Road (Part 2)

Before reading this book, I have never read a book by Gloria Steinem, nevertheless even knew who she was so I did not know what to expect. Overall, as I expressed in my last post this book from the beginning to end was one that was extremely interesting to me, and a much bigger improvement from Growing a Farmer. Although, it was hard for me to relate my life to Steinem, her stories were inspiring and made me want to live a life like hers. What truly made the book inspiring was the experiences she shared on the road with her perspectives that included both historical and personal one’s. Although, this book was written in a woman’s perspective and included large parts about woman’s movement and activism it was still influential to me mainly because the way she attacked her struggles. Steinman, included many parts about her family life mainly stories about her father. There is no doubt that she had a unusual family, but that led a big role in the kind of person she...
