Born on Third Base (Part 1)
After reading the introduction of the book and the first
couple chapters, it is an engaging book thus far because of the much different views
I share with the author. After reading the preface and foreword part of the
book it made it clear what the book would be about. I found the example used
about Trump and Romney to be a very controversial way to talk about how a lot
of wealthy people do not understand the lives of the poor or other 99% who are
not as wealthy. I believe that what Romney said which was to get a loan from
someone can be done by any person in our country. Even if you are raised in a
poor family I believe that with the power of networking, everyone still should
be able to find a loan if they have a good idea. I am also a big believer in
that you don’t need money to make money because I have seen so many people grow
up with nothing but because of knowledge and hard work which everyone can do
they could become successful.
Additionally, I did not agree with him to give away his
inheritance at such a young age. I believe that he didn’t necessarily needed to
spend the money right away, but he should of instead thought about how he could
grow his money. The author stated that his money would have been worth 7
million dollars today, and that he could have could give more money to different
organizations of his choosing’s. Lastly, although I don’t agree with much of
Collin’s deacons I do admire how he views the world especially coming from a wealthy
family. It was extremely powerful to me when he told his father that if he ever
ran into a problem that he would have to deal with it like the rest of the 99%
of the world would. This is a statement that I would never see coming from a wealthy
26-year-old.
