My Life on the Road (Part 2)

Before reading this book, I have never read a book by Gloria Steinem, nevertheless even knew who she was so I did not know what to expect. Overall, as I expressed in my last post this book from the beginning to end was one that was extremely interesting to me, and a much bigger improvement from Growing a Farmer. Although, it was hard for me to relate my life to Steinem, her stories were inspiring and made me want to live a life like hers. What truly made the book inspiring was the experiences she shared on the road with her perspectives that included both historical and personal one’s.

Although, this book was written in a woman’s perspective and included large parts about woman’s movement and activism it was still influential to me mainly because the way she attacked her struggles. Steinman, included many parts about her family life mainly stories about her father. There is no doubt that she had a unusual family, but that led a big role in the kind of person she turned out to be in her adulthood. Lastly, I had a great experience reading this book especially because how well it was written. There were many parts in this book that had me laughing and happy, but even times that made sad.
